BAHR contributes to The Legal 500 Intellectual Property Comparative Legal Guide

The aim of the guide is to provide its readers with a pragmatic overview of the law and practice of intellectual property law across a variety of jurisdictions.

Each chapter of provides information about the current issues affecting intellectual property in a particular country and addresses topics such as intellectual property rights, licensing, enforcement, establishing infringement or liability, and challenges to intellectual property.

BAHR-partner Are Stenvik, Senior Associate Knut Sverre Skurdal Andresen and Associate Emily Kathrine Firing have written the Norway chapter.

Are Stenvik is Head of BAHR’s IP department and has special expertise in the fields of intellectual property law, tort law and contract law. He was formerly professor at the University of Oslo, where he was involved in teaching and research in these fields. Stenvik has published books on tort law, patent law, trademark law and design law, etc., as well as numerous articles in these and other fields. Are’s practice is primarily focused on contentious matters and advice relating to technology, including technology development, R&D agreements, licence agreements, as well as the acquisition and divestment of technology companies.

Knut Sverre Skurdal Andresen is deputy head of BAHR’s IP department and specialises in IP dispute resolution within life sciences, particularly in pharmaceutical patent and trade mark disputes and patent litigation in the oil and gas sector, as well as IP disputes involving offshore and maritime technology and the transportation sector. He also assists international and Norwegian clients with IP transactions, and is a preferred strategic counsel in Norwegian IP law. He is a member of the European Patent Lawyers Association (EPLAW) and a co-author of the online annotated Norwegian Civil Procedure Act.

Emily Kathrine Firing is an associate in BAHR’s IP department who primarily works with IP dispute resolution within life sciences and the energy sectors, including offshore and maritime technology, as well as trademark and marketing control disputes. She also has experience with pharmaceutical regulations, technology agreements and IP transactions.
