The Danish Bar and Law Society (Advokatsamfundet)

All lawyers at BAHR Advokatpartnerselskab are licensed by the Danish Civil Affairs Agency (Civilstyrelsen) under the Danish Ministry of Justice and are members of the Danish Bar and Law Society (Advokatsamfundet), and all EU lawyers at BAHR Advokatpartnerselskab are registered with the Danish Bar and Law Society.

BAHR Advokatpartnerselskab and its lawyers are subject to the supervisory and disciplinary system of the Danish Bar and Law Society as well as the rules on good legal practice pursuant to section 126 of the Danish Administration of Justice Act and the Danish Code of Conduct for Lawyers issued by the Danish Bar Council (Advokatrådet). The Danish Disciplinary Board (Advokatnævnet) supervises compliance with the rules and may impose sanctions in the event of violations.

Insurance

BAHR Advokatpartnerselskab has taken out professional liability insurance and provided a guarantee in accordance with the rules of the Danish Bar and Law Society. The professional liability insurance covers the provision of all legal services, regardless of where such services are performed.

BAHR Advokatpartnerselskab’s professional liability insurance and guarantee are taken out with Alm. Brand Forsikring A/S, Midtermolen 7, DK-2100 Copenhagen.

Publicly Funded and Insurance-Covered Legal Aid

When BAHR Advokatpartnerselskab undertakes an assignment for a client, we examine to what extent publicly funded legal aid or insurance-covered legal aid may be available under applicable law or pursuant to insurance taken out by the client. If fees are to be paid provisionally or finally by a public authority or an insurance company, the client will be informed of the principles for determining the fee etc. and of the possible consequences for the client.
