Norwegian Arbitration Day 2025 | BAHR Pre-conference: Privilege in Arbitration

In connection with the 2025 Norwegian Arbitration Day in Oslo, BAHR is proud to host its pre-conference event for the third consecutive year. This year’s event will feature a panel discussion on the intricate topic of “Privilege in Arbitration”.

The principle of privilege is fundamental in protecting certain evidence, yet its application in international arbitration remains complex and often ambiguous. Arbitration frequently involves participants from various jurisdictions, each with its own principles and interpretation of privilege, making the issue inherently challenging and frequently underestimated.

We invite you to join us as our distinguished panel delves into these complexities, exploring effective strategies for parties, lawyers, and arbitral tribunals to address privilege.

Our panel will include:

  • Johanna Wirth, Hengeler Mueller, moderator
  • Hanne Aarsheim, Mannheimer Swartling
  • Peter Schradieck, Plesner
  • Laila Sivonen, Roschier
  • Ola Ø. Nisja, Wikborg Rein

A networking reception with light food and refreshments will follow the discussion prior to walking to the University of Oslo for those attending Norwegian Arbitration Day (20 min. walking distance).

Programme:

11:30: Coffee and registration

12:00: Welcome and panel discussion

13:30: Networking reception

14:30: Walk to the University of Oslo
