“They have all the skills and experience needed to handle all kinds of matters, while at the same time making sure they keep things simple.”
BAHR – resolving disputes with tact and tenacity
No one enjoys litigation. It can waste time and resources, damage commercial relationships and distract employees. Nonetheless, sometimes fighting remains the best option.
Only deep experience can tell you which course to take. At BAHR we have that experience. We provide strategic advice and manage legal risk and liability. We aim, wherever possible, to prevent, contain and settle disputes without going to court. However, if a situation calls for determination, we protect our clients’ interests with firmness and skill. This combination of tact and tenacity has seen us instructed in many of Norway’s largest recent cases, such as:
- Representing a pharmaceutical company in a multi-billion international arbitration under the SCC rules relating to an earn-out dispute.
- Representing two subsidiaries of Höegh Eiendom AS in an appeal process before the Supreme Court regarding an important appraisal case, following the permanent expropriation of land and significant restrictions imposed on the use of further property.
- Representing airline Norwegian in a highly complex and high value case regarding our client’s obligation to surrender its ETS emission allowances.
- Representing Coast Seafood AS in a comprehensive shareholder dispute against Blom Gruppen AS, Blom Fiskeoppdrett AS and Firda Seafood Group AS.
At BAHR our large, dedicated dispute resolution group has experience of resolving problems in all the main commercial areas, including contractual disputes, company, directors and shareholder disputes, and professional liability and negligence. We also work with colleagues from across the firm to resolve disputes in specialist areas, such as energy, IP, TMT, competition, M&A, employment, construction, shipping, insurance, insolvency and tax.
We represent leading companies in domestic and international arbitration and complex court matters. We are also regularly appointed as mediators and arbitrators.
