Norwegian Arbitration Day 2026 | BAHR Pre-conference: Modernisation of Arbitration Legislation in Norway

Norway’s Arbitration Act has remained unchanged since 2007. As other jurisdictions modernise their arbitration frameworks, including the UK’s recent updates to its Arbitration Act 1996, it’s time to discuss whether Norway should follow suit.

Join us for an important conversation about the future of arbitration legislation in Norway, including how modernisation might look in terms of clarifying the law around arbitration, providing judicial assistance to arbitration, keeping up with global arbitration trends, promoting arbitration as a dispute resolution mechanism, and what modernisation could mean for strengthening Norway’s position as a competitive and attractive arbitration seat and venue.

BAHR is proud to host its pre-conference event for the fourth consecutive year and looks forward to seeing you at our offices again on 5 February 2026.

Our panel will include:

  • Nora Fredstie (Partner, DAC Beachcroft)
  • Mike McClure KC (Partner, Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer)
  • Giuditta Cordero-Moss (Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Oslo)
